The collective KOIKATE creates temporary installations, extensive sculptures and eclectic performance work. Its intense visual and sound worlds explore complex topics like the trigger of human emotions and the excesses of social structures.

The experience of the visitor is more important than the capability to understand the artwork. KOIKATES’s work is encroaching; if you have opened yourself once to her, it is hard to escape again. An innocent, happy rage in the first impression mutates into a relentless portrayal of reality.

The viewer becomes an emotional protagonist in KOIKATE’s staged world. The boundaries between artist and viewer disappear, what stays is a feeling, a touch. KOIKATE was founded as a platform for visual and performance art by Sebastian K. König and Lea Walloschke. For the room in THE HAUS they had support and assistance from Clara Haseloff.
